Intermediate Microeconomics by Hal R. Varian. Pdf Free Download.
Introduction:
Intermediate Microeconomics is
one of the Promising study materials for Undergraduate and Postgraduate
students. This book is considered as one of the excellent materials due to its
simplicity in writing and flow of the book.
Three distinctive Characteristics
have made this book more convincing to approach. First, the chapters are generally very short.
I’ve tried to make most of them roughly “lecture size,” so that they can be
read at one sitting. Second, lot of examples of how to use the theory described
are mentioned. In most books, students look at a lot of diagrams of shifting curves,
but they don’t see much algebra, or much calculation of any sort for that
matter. Third and most important is the modular structure of the book allows
the instructor a great deal of freedom in choosing how to present the material,
and I hope that more people will take advantage of this freedom.
Major Topics Covered are:
Preferences and Utility, Demand
and supply, Revealed Preference theory, Production function, Slutsky equation,
Market and its types, Risk and Uncertainty, Market equilibrium, consumer
surplus, technology, Profit maximization, Cost curves, Firm and Industry Demand
and supply, Game theory and its Application in Decision making.
